When I came home from serving in Iraq, I realized once again how lucky we are to live in the most beautiful state in the greatest country on Earth.
But I also became even more bothered by the problems our neighbors and loved ones in Michigan are facing. The lack of good-paying jobs, families losing their homes, seniors deciding whether to pay for medications or food – those things just aren’t right.
To me, it comes down to our broken state government. Our legislators are addicted to wasteful spending and serving their party, not the people.
I want to change that. I will work to create a smaller, more efficient state government that doesn’t waste our taxpayer dollars and focuses on the issues we care about. The Marines taught me accountability, honor and integrity, and I want to bring those values to Lansing.
My military service does not make me special by any means. However, it taught me very valuable skills that I believe will enable me to be effective as your State Representative. I learned how to meet any challenge, under great pressure, and most of all, how to be a leader who brings people together to get the job done.
I will stand up for us and make the changes we need so that Northern Michigan is a place where good people can find good jobs; small businesses can thrive; our schools can give our kids a world-class education; our families can be safe; and our Great Lakes, rivers and forests can be enjoyed for generations to come.
Thank you for visiting my Website.
Sincerely,
Casey
